Kid Cudi - BET Rising Icons

If you've been keeping up with the music game you know who Kid Cudi is. If you don't then here's your chance.

Kanye West signed Cudi after he heard his first single Day and Nite playing in clubs followed by crowds showing appreciation to the song.

Cudi's album is about to drop, or already did. It leaked a few weeks ago. He sets himself apart from other rappers by rapping about day to day struggles instead of being rich and famous. If his lyrics aren't enough to set him apart he also has a few songs that sound more like electronic beats than rap. His new album has 2 songs produced by Ratatat *electronic music* one of them even features MGMT.

I call it emo-rap, and I love it.

This is an album anyone must have if they are into the indie music these days. I can't say much more than that, other than good music is good music. They are also going to be featured on the up coming Kid Cudi album, which is going to be extremely hip hop heavy.

I liked this song when I first heard it now heres the video. Notice how Mr. Hudson comes from across the seas, and has an accent. Now notice how when Kanye sings chance he says "chonce" haha, i wonder why? Maybe it will be better received in the UK? who cares why, but I love the song.

I think the show sunday will be epic. Sad that Michael Jackson died so early, on the flip side, with the awards show looming, i'm sure there will be much respect and many tributes to him. I'm looking forward to watching todays artists contributing to his memory.

I really think a majority of people who made fun of Michael Jackson were born before 1985, because the rest of the people on this earth were there to see him in his prime.

I kind of hoped he'd make some new music and get the respect he used to get.

I'm not sad that he's dead though, it does bother me though that now that he's dead he's getting way more respect. Thats how it always goes though.

Manchester Orchestra Wednesday of Release Week Update

NUMBER 11 ALBUM ON ITUNES

Yesterday Manchester Orchestra and Sony released their album Mean Everything to nothing; today I found out that Manchester Orchestra is in the 11th spot for top album on iTunes! They were in the 10th at some point today.

I wasn't going to buy their CD on iTunes, but if it helps them compete, I'll download it.

4K FOLLOWERS ON TWITTER

In other Manchester News they put out a tweet that asked for people to spread the word to get them up to 4k followers. The person who becomes the 4000th follower will get a free METN Record that is signed. ha! I hope they get 40,000 followers.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Manchester Orchestra is getting the attention they need. I guess they are involved with Sony Music some how, because of this they will get the distribution they need! This band is getting props from all the important people/groups that matter. AbsolutePunk.net gave the cd a 5/5 which NEVER happens, and said something along the lines of "most looked forward to cd of 09"

I woke up to a twitter post by the band saying they were on iTunes as the music video of the week! I love the song, but honestly I dind't want to watch the video because I assumed they were not in it because they are doing one video for every song on the album.

Anyway saw the video, loved it, they are in the video toward the end and at 3:25 in there is a bear who sings, and makes me laugh every time. I may never listen to the song the same.

Why being unemployed sucks!

I recently got some what of a job. I feel like a new man. After college I went a long time with out a job and I got used to how I felt about life in general. So here are the effects of unemployment. Sound familiar?

Boredom- Check

Depression- Check

Stress- Check, which is funny cause people with jobs are like "WTF are you stressed about" how about feeling like a bum!?

Money- Duh, check

Self-Esteem- Check

Loneliness/Isolation- Check, its hard to want to hang out with people when they all talk about their jobs. What could I talk about? How close Dr. Phil came to hitting the nail on the head earlier today?

Mental Illness, insomnia, anxiety, depression - CHECK CHECK CHECK. Sleep sucks when you have no reason to wake up.

Drug, Tobacco, and alcohol use- No check, check, check. i can see why people would do drugs though, shoot, no drug tests.

Physical Health- I never really got sick

Healthy Eating- this thing says you diet more cause you can't afford as much food, haha, CHECK.

Trouble with the police- Okay thats dumb, i never had trouble with the police.

Here's the story.

A little over a year ago I lived in a fraternity house. One day my roomate (Watson) and I came into our room and turned on the light. We had a fan in there, so as soon as the light came on the fan started spinning, someone had put powder on our fan.

So to get revenge we decided to put shaving cream in an envelope and smash it under the dudes door who go us. We taped the whole thing
